Be sure to cater to different browsers with your web design. Cross browser compatibility is nice since not everyone uses the same one. Your website may look pretty, but if a person can't read it, they won't care for it. Be sure to use fonts that are easy to read. One font may be fancier design-wise, but you need to keep the reader in mind when choosing fonts. Also, be aware of colors for the background. Black and white may not be that original, but it is the easiest colors to look at for a font color and background. The most popular font is the Verdana font as it was designed specifically for the web.
